29.08.08 Preparations for the Children's League have gone on well today with the players gearing up for the climax of the
Holiday Program at Aga Khan Primary School. Children shared sports news as usual in the talk session and were taken through
continuation of the first aid session by Coach Kibuuka Francis. Emphasis in today's on field training was on how to play as
a team in order to win matches while exhibiting the spirit of fair play. In today's matches: For the U-13 age
category, Parrots beat Pigeons 2-1, Karl Martin scoring 2 goals for Parrots and Saka Shakul scoring the one goal for Pigeons.
Sparrows beat Parrots 2-1, Wilson and Tendo scored 1 goal each for Sparrows and Mark Ssali scoring 1 goal for Parrots. Doves
lost to Pigeons 2-1 with Saka Shakul and Allan Mugombya each scoring for Pigeons and Bashir scoring the lone goal for Doves.
Parrots beat Doves 2-0 with Karl Martin scoring a brace. Doves beat Sparrows 2-0 with Mugerwa and Kawesi scoring each goal. For U-9 age category, Sparrows beat Doves 9-8 with goals from;
Iga Sudice 3, Jonathan Musoke3, Keth 3 for Sparrows and Martin Watson 6, Nkwanga Joel 1, Waswa Crispus 1 for Doves. 28.08.08 Today's training program started with a talk session that was conducted by Coaches Segirinya saidi and Kibuuka Francis.
The talk session involved sharing of sports news, revising of the fourth law of the game of football that looks at the players
equipment, fair play and a presentation on the basic first aid tips. The tag rugby coaching staff led by Coach Stella thereafter took the players through a one hour session to review
and improve on the skills the players had learned on Tuesday and their response was very promising. Though it is a new game
in our program, the children have quickly mastered it and are really enjoying playing the games. The last hour involved children playing competitive games for their respective
teams; in the U11 age group Sparrows beat Doves 7-6. Sudice Iga scored 2 goals, Jeremiah Ethan 2 goals, Keith 1 goal,and
Kimuli Francis 2 gaols for Sparrows whereas Nkwaga Joel scored 3 goals, Zimula Herbert 1 goal, and Martin watson 2 goals for
Doves. The youngsters have shown continous improvement since the holiday started. 25.08.08 Today's Soccer Programme started with a talk session conducted by Coach Seggie,where a New coach for the U15 Team,
Kibuuka Francis was introduced. Topics discussed
during the talk session include Fair play,code of conduct with regard to use of drugs,corruption,violence Racism and Gambling.Also
continuation on Laws of the Game on Free Kicks. Goal
keepers have had a special training on Ball handling and foot work conducted by Coach Sowedi, the other Teams did normal training
with U11 Doves and Sparrows playing Friendly match that ended in a 3 all draw with Martin Watson and Yiga Sudice scoring a
hatrick. Coach Kyagulanyi's U13 Doves Vs
Pro match ended 1-3goals,Mbajja Wilson with a hatrick for the Proz. During this week,we shall organise a children's league on saturday 30.08.08 an activity that marks the climax of
the Holiday Programme,all Edgars's registered Youth players shall take part in the event that will have parents cheering their
kids show case of modern skills of football as trained by a group of well skilled EYP coaching staff.

21.08.08 Today's
holiday soccer program begun with a talk session conducted by Coaches Dan Mubiru and Segirinya Saidi in which children shared
sports news, revised laws of the game of soccer regarding fouls and misconduct, and discussed "The FIFA Fair Play Code"
golden rules concerning:observation of the laws of the game and respecting opponents, team-mates, referees, officials,
and spectators. Thereafter tag rugby training was conducted, Stella, Denis, and the captain of
the lady's rugby cranes Kizito Christina who passed on tag rugby skills to children on how to handle the ball, passing
backwards, how to score, and removal and adding of tags. The final phase of the program involved
children playing competitive training games. 20.08.08 Holiday Soccer
is running so well with youth players turning up in good numbers,including the U17 Team which has been inconsistent on training
due their Coach Hassan Mubiru's involvement in county Cup Tournament and. Today's notable individual brilliant players are;Kabanda sulaiman of U17,Mulindwa Marvin of U7
and a new goal keeper Mugerwa Henry from St.Henry's College Kitovu who impressed the U13 Coach Kyagulanyi .
19.08.08 A new sport (Tag Rugby) has finally been introduced and today the youth players have trained on the basic principles
of the sport such as safety and rules of the game by Coach Stella and Denis from Uganda Rugby Union.It was all fun as the
kids learnt new game. They also trained in Football
in their last hour of the day's train and kids show great improvement day by day.we are organising friendly this week
to continue monitoring their performance.
18.08.08 During today's Holiday soccer Camp,EYP's U7 has been assesed in Dribbling,Ball control,passing and heading skills
through an Internal friendly match between Falcons and Doves where Falcons won by three goals to one,Walusimbi Muhamed scored
a brace and marvin with the other
The match
showed that Mulindwa Marvin and Matovu Lawrence have greatly improved. For the U13 Team it has been all tears as some of the youth players have been demoted due to poor performance,however
the retained players have been encouraged to train had if they are to promoted to the U15 Academy team and below are the retained
U13 players Lwanyaga Hassan,Karl Martin,Kiboneka
Badru,Nabatanzi Zainabu,Ssali Mark,Kiguli Abedi,Walugembe Eric,Saka Shakul,Mbajja wilson,Walakila Hood,Kavuma Sulaiman,Male
Derrick,Kagimu Arnold, andAmanya joshua. In the
other development, Yiga Sudice,Naiga Kawuthur and Jerry Peter Monday resumed train after along absence and despite along absence,they
all proved to be skilled as shown by Jerry Peter Monday's good penalty save and Yiga's goal of the day in the U11 Team.
15.08.08 To day's Holiday Soccer Camp had a new approach during Talk session conducted
by Coach Dan Mubiru and Coach Seggie where players had an interactive session with both Coaches and players asking Questions
and Answering each other on Law five that concerns Referees and their duties. In other developments,Coach Peter trained the U13 Team in various skills that included short passing and Ball control,where
he observered good individual brilliance New players like Ssali Mark,Nyanzi Adrian and One Lwanyaga Hassan's good Goal
keeping skills. He also noted an increasing number
of Players turning up for the Holiday Soccer and he is very optimistic that there will a big turn up on Monday when all children
break for Holiday.
16.08.2008 The weekend programme at Nakawa is going on well during this period
of the Holiday Program at Aga khan. More Holiday makers who can not make it during the week days at Aga Khan are reporting
to Nakawa ( MUBS field) to enrol in the weekend program. The URA KIDS are also training well.
06.08.08 Wednesday The Holiday Programme is now set to continue. The Field at Aga Khan has
been secured to be used from 9am to lunch time starting 11.08.2008.The Registration process is on going and parents are advised
to contact us if their children will enroll. On Monday 04.08.2008, the Kampala Juniour School soccer programme did not take place
due to the flooded Kitante field.The heavy rain that day made the field not fit to be played in. The school cancelled the
trainning as the Field at Kitante could not be used. Water was too much to play in. On Tuesday 05.08.08 the soccer club at Aga khan was
on ,but some players seem to be already in the mood of having holidays .Some players did not attend.However the Program continues
even tomorrow Thursday 07.08.08 ( see program page on this site).
04.08.08 The British Council in conjunction with Premier League,will train the Edgar's Youth Programme coaches in modern
football skills and communication skills(Premier skills).The course starts 06.09.08 to 12.09.08 at Lugogo. Meanwhile during the Holiday Soccer Camp at Aga Khan Primary field,The Edgar's
in partnership with Rugby Union will introduce Tag Rugby for the youth and this sport is new in our activity and even different
from the usual Rugby that most of the people are used to
02.08.2008 The Nakawa weekend programme went on well and the weather was excellent
and players learnt alot of passing.
31.07.08 In the on going Kampala Junior Academy Soccer Club,Cynthia Mbatudde,
Nehemaya Mishereko, Kikambi Trevor and Kakande Trevor have greatly improved in skills and Team play. The coaches have commended the youth players towards this improvement
as it forms the basis of good Technical ability.And emphasised consistent training to keep up the form

Youth Programme Team in Sweden have today successfully ended their Gothia games and have received a play off Trophy.The team
will return on 23.07.08

Aga khan Soccer Club of U7 and U11 have a football match with Kampala Junior Academy tomorrow 18.07.08 at Aga khan field starting
at 3pm.
14.07.2008 Weekend Program at Nakawa Weekend Soccer Programme went on well at Nakawa MUBS field where the children played games with focus on team play.Weekend
Programme continues next Saturday 19.07.2008 at the same Venue.
28.06.08 Lutalo George William Coach of the month! Following the briliant performance of
Nancy School for the Deaf (Lira) who emerged as champions for both boys and girls under 15 years in
the National Deaf League that was organized by Edgars Youth Programme
with the support of the Royal Netherlands Embassy on 8th June 2008 at Mandela National Stadium, Coach Lutalo has been selected
as the Coach of the month of June 2008.
26.06.2008 Thursday Coaches had a working meeting in which they reviewed the past
and upcoming Holiday Programme, the Weekend Programme and the upcoming events and vowed to improve on the programme quality. The coaches
also discussed new tactics in the game of soccer and agreed to introduce them in the upcoming training sessions.
In the evening
the parents of the youth players travelling to Gothenburg were briefed on the upcoming trip. Edgars Youth Programme players to participate in the Gothia World Cup for the
youth tournament , started training every week day at Aga Khan in the evenings
and on weekends at MUBS

On a sad note, wo of our youth players, Kiggundu Yusufu of Kampala International School and Misha
Nasanga of Kampala Junior Academy lost their father, the late Dr.Sulaiman Kiggundu, also a former Governor Bank
of Uganda. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
