EDGARS YOUTH PROGRAMME

25.05.2008 Sunday

EYP coaches participated in a session to learn more about first aid, and what you can and should do until the professional medical services arrive. A follow-up training where they can practice what they've learned is scheduled for end of June. 

08.07.2008     GOTHIA TRIP PARENTS  FINAL MEETING ON TODAY

All is set for the U11BoysTravel team that will travel on Friday 11.07.2008  to Gothernburg - Sweden.Today the final Parents Meeting will be held at Aga Khan School to cross check on all Modalities before travelling aboard SN Brussels Airlines.

05.06.2008              Coach Makanga sick

Coach Makanga Peter is down with Malaria and has been instructed by the Doctor to have a two day bed rest.It has been years since Coach Makanga Peter went down with Malaria .However he has received good treatment and we expect him back soon on the pitch. There are many cases reported on malaria and we request that players, coaches and parents visit the hospital instead of administering drugs for themselves.  

 02.06.2008 Monday

UGANDA CRANES left for Benin at 5am, with a contingent of 23 people including 19 players and 4 officials. Coach Edgar Watson is not part of the group because he has to be available at the Deaf League competitions on the 08.06.2008 at Namboole stadium. Cranes will play the world cup game on the same day the Deaf League will be played....

 
01.06.2008 Sunday 

Today the Deaf League has started with the school programmes. The EYP coaches have kicked off with the Ntinda Deaf School today, where the youngsters enjoyed - despite some rain - a first training.

The coming days the EYP coachs will travel to Iganga, Masaka, Kumi, Lira, Kisori, Wakiso, Ntinda and Mulago DS to set up a school soccer programme together with the Deaf Schools / units. 

13.05.2008 Monday 

First of all we were very pleased to see that - despite the heavy rains - the kids came to the field for training. Such a dedication! Today they have learnt about the laws of the game, in particular about referees and their duties. Okwalinga Paul and Nandawula Liz were voted as outstanding new players in U7 Team.


09.05.2008 FRIDAY

Our U-13 Academic Team played a friendly match against Catalonica FC today. The match ended in a 3 all draw. Karl Mark scored all 3 EYP-goals. EYP's Lwanyaga Hassan was voted 'man of the match'  because of his outstanding goalkeeping! Coaches comment: these friendly matches help our U-13 to gauge their strengths & weaknesses and become a better team. Keep it up - i've seen some fine actions! 

  


07.05.2008 WEDNESDAY

EYP has been involved in the reorganisation of the sports equipment store at Aga Khan Primary School, to ensure that all equipment is used in the best way it deserves. If sports materials are well taken care off and properly stored, it will remain longer in a good conditation! Attention for all the players at Aga Khan: the (new) room is now on the right side of the Gym!

On the 1st and 2nd May 2008, Edgars Youth programme had a workshop / course in which Deaf school representatives came together to learn how best  to organise the Deaf League which is soon starting in June 2008.

 


06.05.2008 TUESDAY

We are pleased to see that the Holiday Programme has attracted new young players who are eagerly playing at the Aga Khan field! The young players are from local schools which are closed for the holidays. This programme will continue till the 16th May 2008. So one and a half week left!

The new players are welcome join the regular Aga Khan clubs and the weekend clubs at MUBS, Nakawa.
