Edgars Kaweke excell in Qatar

Edgars Youth programme(EYP) Sophas Kaweke who is in Qatar played against Barcelona U17 and won 3-0.Kaweke together with Zake Laban passed trials in East Africa where over 60 players assembled in Nairobi Kenya after going trials in in diferent centres.Kaweke 14,was the only player at Aga Khan Centre contributed 3 goals all scored by Zake from Kawempe centre whom they passed trials and went together from Uganda as representatives.Zake scored all the three goals and the two boys shows that they have done their part and waiting for the respeonse from the Academy in Qatar of their fate.We in EYP we are happy with Kaweke for he displayed his skills and we wsih him well.

Kaweke to play against Barcelona in Qatar

Edgars Youth Programme's Sophas Kaweke will prove himself when he plays against F.C Barcelona academy in Qatar today. Kaweke 14 ,has been under going training under the best coaches from Qatar in Aspire Football Dreams Academy. Coach Segirinya Saidi who travelled with him last month said that he last talked to him on a  telephone interview and that he sounded confident. EYP wishes him the best of luck. 

Travel Team Preparations

Edgars Youth Prgramme has started preparation for next years travel to Europe. we intend to feature in Welsh International Super Cup 2012, Gothia Cup and US Schwan youth soccer tournaments respectively. Interested children and travel team parents are encouraged to visit our offices on Martin road plot 10 for more infomation.

EYP'S Technical Director Returns from United Kingdom

EYP's Technical Director Mr. Peter Makanga who travelled with the Edgars travel Team to USA in July and later travelled to UK for a Coaching Refresher Course phase two, returned over the weekend. Makanga who also doubles as Events manager has promised to impart all the knowldge he acquired to other coaches so as to promote the game of football. He also revealed that his first task will be centred at the forthcoming Edgars Youth Cup due in December at MUBS Nakawa.

Edgars Youth travel team returned home on Wednesday

Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) travel team returned home on Wednesday after a very successful trip to USA. The team succesfully participated in the Weekend Schwan cup and US Schwav Cup respectively that ended on Friday 22nd July where EYP reached the finals from over 60 academies that participated in the US Schwan cup tournaments.

The US home care parents were happy to host such a talented young ugandan team. They will travel to Kampala to see the kids whom they hosted to see the country where they hail from. The Travel team leader Coach Peter Makanga is convinced that the boys enjoyed the stay. "everything was so good and the people we were staying with were real parents". The Parents of EYP kids welcomed the kids back home with happiness and joy.

Edgars Travel team back from USA

Edgars Youth Programme Teams (EYP) are expected in the country today at midday. The Travel Team participated in the Schwan Weekend cup and reached the semi final and US Schwan Cup reached quarter finals respectively. The Team will touch down at Entebbe Airport at Mid day and EYP officials, Parents and Fans will be at the Airport to welcome the Team. EYP coaches are happy and welcome back the team.

EYP US Travel Team reaches last 8

Edgars Youth Programme(EYP) travel team to USA reached the last 8 teams in the US Schwan cup that ended on friday 22nd July. Out of 0ver 60 teams that participated in the US Schwan cup, EYP finished 8 over all in the Us Schwan while in the Weekend Scwan cup EYP finished 4th out of 20 teams. EYP took the U11 team to the US Scwan cup that started on Friday with a weekend Scwan cup where EYP team lost to the semi final. EYP again started the US Schwan cup on Tuesday where EYP won 1 game and reached the quarter finals and lost to Rio Select 2 BR UK team that eventually won the trophy winning against USA team 9-2.Coach Peter Makanga said that the team played well. The team is expected back home on Wednesday at midday.This was the first time EYP participated in the Schwan cup in Minesotta State. ### 25.07.11 

Edgars U11 loose in the semis in Schwan's USA cup

Edgars Youth Programme(EYP)started the campaign well by winning their games and it topped group J with 11points. EYP team's progress was shuttered by a loss to Superior SC in the semis of the USA Weekend cup. The games so far played includes EYP 3 vs Gitchi Gummi Storm 1,EYP 7 vs Green Bay Lighting 2 and EYP 2 vs Edina Sting 8. EYP played again on sunday in the play offs and won against Unit Flying Circles EYP won 3-1 later. in the semi finals they met Superior SC and lost by one goal to nil.EYP put up a spirited fight but the final whistle brought their spirit down. Superior SC lost out to West Fango Flying 2-0 and West Fangos claimed the trophy.

Edgars U11 left for USA

The U11 team under the leadership of Technical Director Makanga Peter, left for USA where they are expected to participate in the US Schwan Cup 2011. Edgars will compete against teams in group J1 below on;

USA Travel Team set

Edgars Youth Programme(EYP) from Uganda African continent.The EYP travel will depart on 13th of July heading for th US Schwan cup due to kick off on 15th July in Minessota state where the kids will compete in U11 age category with the rest of the world countries like Brazil,USA,Argentina,UK,Colombia,Chile among others.

EYP is for the first time travelling to USA with confidence and eager to meet other youth groups from the world. According to Travel Team Coordinator Coach Peter Makanga,'we have got all the requirements from USA embassy and we shall set off for USA Minnesota State on 13th July and return on 25th July. This is the first time EYP is travelling to USA to participate in US Scwan cup. "i believe such trip will also give players adventure and avenues to make exchange programs with other countries".added Peter. The boys have enough experience to win any team.

EYP's U11, U13 and U16 have been invited to partcipate in the East Africa Cup in Arusha; the tournament in set for june and shall feature East Africa's best Academies with Edgars inclusive.

According to information from the technical department, the invitation is welcomed and its believed that it boost the morale of the children attending Holiday Soccer Programme.

USA Travel Team Finalised

Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) travel team to USA finalised registration. Travel Team Coordinator Coach Peter Makanga said "We have already submitted in the names of those travelling to the American Embassy and we cannot add in more".Coach Peter said that the dealine for the USA trip had been reached. We will travel to the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Tanzania this year.The USA team will travel to Minesota State on 13th July and return on 25th July.

Edgars Travel Team requests for VISAs

Edgars Youth Programme(EYP) has submitted in details of their travel team to US embassy in Kampala. The team that was invited for US Cup in Minessota State has sent in their request to be issued with visas, said Team Leader Mr Edgar Watson. EYP expects to send a strong team of 25 people both players and coaches due to leave in the month of July. The tournament will start 15th - 25th July 2011. this will be the first time EYP is sending a team to compete in US Cup. EYP has participated in several World Youth tournaments; the Gothia World Youth tournament in Sweden in 2008 and 2009, while in UK Welsh super cup 2009 and 2010. While in Norway, EYP travelled last year in 2010 to take part in the Norway Cup. We intend to travel again this year in different countries like Tanzania, USA, UK,Sweden and Norway. "EYP travels in these countries to network with similar organisations, adventure for players, expose the players to modern football techniques and also our coaches get more tactical nous about modern coaching approach", says Coach Edgar.

Edgars travel team to USA has seen Emma Kasagama registering on the team. Kasagama, a pupil of Primary Three (P.3) at Aga Khan Primary School has confirmed his participation alongside other players who had earlier registered. 

The team will travel to Minnesotta State, USA where the tournament will be held. This will be the first time the team will travel to US to participate in the US Cup. Coach Peter Makanga, the Travel team coordinator confirmed the team's registration, and the training program is underway. He is very optmistic that the boys will win one of the major trophies in US youth soccer tournament. EYP is expected to travel to Moshi, Tanzania, Cardiff in UK, Gothia cup  in Sweden, among others.

Edgars Youth Programme(EYP) is expected to send two teams in the East Africa Cup due in July. According to the 2011 Travel team program, EYP will send a boys' and Girls' U16 team to participate in the aforementioned cup. EYP has had several trips in East Africa, other parts of Africa as well as Europe. EYP emerged runners-up in their last trip to UK in 2010 to participate in the Welsh Super cup.EYP will also take trips in East Africa, other parts of Africa, USA, UK, Sweden and Norway.

Edgars Girls invited for Moshi Soccer tournament

Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) has landed another tournament invite to be held in Moshi, Tanzania.The tournament which will be in the month of July will see EYP girls travel for the first time to participate in this youth tournament in Tanzania. EYP is expected to send the girls' team under coach Maurice Matte who is taking serious preparations for this tournament. EYP girls have been training during the holiday program and have also played several games including Independence cup where EYP girls reached the finals.

Regstration for Edgars Travel Team  is still ongoing at our offices.The travel team that is due to fly out in the months of July and August will see children fly out to United States of America for the US Cup due in July. According to the travel team manager who is also the Technical Director, coach Peter Makanga said that we are still registering and soon we shall start training seriously for those who could have made it to the Travel Team. We were invited to USA,UK and Sweden and we need to take a serious team that will bring down the trophies in all these countries. Last year EYP travel team reached the finals of Welsh super cup but this time we want to win one of the trophies. Among the players intending to travel include Lydia Alaba, Jason Otim, Timothy Nkemba, Martin Karl, Adrian Mugyesera among others.

Edgars Youth Prgramme travel team has confirmed its participation in the US Cup, United States of America(USA),Edgars will for the first time fly out in July to engage in the youth cup.The Travel Team coordinator is convinced that they will be victors given the experience attained in various successful trips made to Sweden, UK, Norway, Kenya and Rwanda. Registration is going on for all ages from 4-17 years.

Also plans are under way to have our U15 boys and girls participate in the Norway Cup due on 31st July upto 6th August 2011

Edgars invited to UK, USA and Sweden

Edgars Youth Programme has received invitations from United States of America, United Kingdom and Sweden where they will feature in the US Cup, Welsh International Super Cup and Gothia World Youth Cup respectively that are scheduled between months of july and August .Last year Edgars returned from United Kingdom after participating in the Welsh Super cup where we finished second over all, the news of our invitation came after our boys showed brilliant skills in Gothia and UK.

Edgars has participated in the Gothia world Youth Cup in Sweden twice; In 2008 Edgars lost in the Bowl cup finals and in 2009 Edgars lost in the finals of the Plate Cup, in other developments, another trip to USA for US Cup is underway and is scheduled on 17th-23rd July 2011, this was revealed by Travel Team coordinator at Edgars Youth Programme, Coach Peter Makanga has urged all coaches to start plannning early so that we emerge victors given the experience we have attained In UK where we managed to reach the finals of the Welsh International Super Cup.

Edgars kids who are training in holidays at Aga Khan celebrated after news coming from United Kingdom that Edgars is winning. The kids includes Lydia Alaba,Ethan Mugabe brother to Adrian Mugyesera part of the team in UK said that we are happy to hear the news and we are praying they win. Every morning the kids pray before training and they wish our team brings the trophy to Uganda. Joel Kayanja,Joshua Kayanja,Darren Bainealso hoped that the team in UK continue winning games and pledged to keep praying for them to win and bring the trophies.

Edgars U9 and U11 through to Quarter finals

The U9 and U11 teams have all qualified to the first quarter finals of Welsh International Super Cup that ends this Friday in Wales. U9 defeated Pieta Hotspurs 3-0, U11 defeated Chivinor 3-2 but before had lost to Hamrun Spartans. U14 also defeated Inverness SL by 7-3, a game that attracted most spectators who included souts from Premier league teams like Totteham Hotspurs and Everton who showed interest in Karl Martin and Semakula Kakembo.

Edgars U9 and U11 Win First Games

Edgars Youth Programme U9 and U11 today won their first three games in the Welsh International Super Cup. The U9 team won 8-0 against PG Developmemt with goals courtsey of Mulindwa Marvin (4), Kamurasi Jonathan (2), Thomas Kounikorgo (1),and Mutawe Hamuza (1), 4-0 against PG Development with Mulindwa Marvin scoring 3 goals, Zziwa Trevor (1) and Thomas Kounikorgo (1) The U11 team also won 5-2 in their third game against Celtaid, Kamurasi Jonathan scored a brace (2), Zziwa Travor (1), and Baroda Marvin. The tournament resumes tomorrow with the Edgars U9 team playing against Pieta Hotspurs at 10am!
Meanwhile the U14 team lost to Powys Raiders and will have to work extra hard to win their second game against Inverness SL who they will play tomorrow morning at 12noon.

MULINDWA MARVIN GONE FOR  WAR

Edgars team arrived in Manchester at Aberystwyth University and heard lunch and they trying to cope up with the weather.Coach Peter makanga said the team is safe and we arrived well without any problem.We arrived at 10;05 in United Kingdom.The weather is good. On 26th July the games will start and U10 will play in the Morning as well as U14.Goal machine Marvin Mulindwa has assured the coaches that he has gone for a cup not a show.The team is good and we shall fight till the last whistle. Mulindwa is in U10 together with Jonathan Kamurasi,Hamza Mutawe,Degoal chuwa,marvin Baroda and others. Mulindwa will captain the U10.The players that have played in the Welsh super cup include Steven Gerrard, Tomas Rosicky, Andrei Shevchenko, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen and Shay Given.

Semakula ready for the World Welsh Super cup

Semakula Kakembo has assured Edgars Youth Programme about coming with the trophy.Semakula 13 was part of the team that participated in the 25th annual Welsh super cup last year and the team lost to semis and settled for silver. "We lost because it was our first time to be in that tournament but said this year we are well prepared for the games". The student of year eigth at Aga Khan said we have a good team of U14 this time we shall come with it. The team will leave on 23rd July and also we have a chance of playing in the Old Trafford,Anfield,Manchester city grounds after the tournament. 19 players will make the trip.

TIME TO REVENGE IN THE WELSH WORLD YOUTH CUP-MUGYESERA

Adrian Mugyesera a student at Aga High school YEAR 9 has said that he is ready to lift this years World Youth Welsh trophy.The U15 year old Mugyesera is of part of Edgars travel team to United Kingdom in Wlaes where the tournament is going to be held said am ready and i know it will not be easy to lift it but i know we can can make. We have had enough training and we are waiting for the day to kick off and show them what we have at stake. We Africans lost to the World cup but we shall also revenge in the Youth World cup where countries Brazil,Germany,England,Spain among others where we shall compete in the U15 age category.The forward says we shall bring the trophy.This si the second time Edgars is taking part in the 26th Annual event,Edgars is taking three age group of U11,13 and 15 to compete. The team will leave the country on 23rd July and opening ceremony on 24th July.

19 players for Welsh super cup

A group of 19 players will depart on 23rd July for Welsh super cup in the United Kingdom. According to the travel team manager coach Peter Makanga said that all the 19 players have secured Visas that is sheduled on 23rd July.Coach Peter was addressing parents at Aga Khan Primary school on 25th June.The Edgars team will travel from Uganda and arrive 24th at Manchester Airport and later they will taken to Aberystwyth for dinner.The team will be welcomed by the Mr Alex Camilleri team Tours Director. On 25th July it will be the official opening of the Welsh super cup.The games will then start on 26th July. On 30 willbe the final day of the games and presentation of the trophies. 31st Edgars will be taken to the home of Liverpool at Anfield stadium where the team will have lunch and have a sightseeing of the museum and othet interesting places. On 1st August day 9 Edgars will visit Manchester city stadium and they will have a friednl game with the Manchester City kids. On day 10 2nd August Edgars will visit Old Trafford home of Manchester United and also visist the museum and other places.

UK team is set for Welsh Super cup due to kick off in July 23rd. The UK team comprises of U11,13 and 15 will tussle with world football countries like Brazil,Argentina,Spain,England among others.The team will be led coach Peter Makanga where Edgars Youth Programme players like Karl Martin,Adrian Mugyesera,Trevor Kitonsa,Chwa Degol,Marvin Milindwa,Isaac Muhumuza will make it for the 26th anniversary. This is the second time Edgars is participating in the Welsh super cup. Coach Peter says we shall visit and play friendly games with academies of Manchester City,Liverpool and Manchester United. The team trains on weekends as they prepare for the 12 days.The team will be back on 4th August

Edgars pulls out of Gothia cup

Edgars Youth Programme has pulled out of Gothia cup that kicks off 17th-27th July in Sweden, Edgars was supposed to have participated pulled out because of unavoidable circumstances but We shall participate in the Welsh super cup which starts on 23rd July-4th August 2010.

We registered for Welsh Super to be held in UK and we already recieved invitations from the hosts, the preparations are under way and the players are training says Technical Director coach Peter Makanga. This is the second time Edgars  is sending a team to Welsh cup, among player includes Hamza Mutaawe,Marvin Mulindwa,Cornelia Netzer,Isaac Ntegeka,Isaac Muhumuza among others. We shall take 3 age groups in the tournament U9,U11,U13.

Edgars Youth Programme kids from Aga Khan high school have registered for UK trip.The high schools students been confirmed and are ready to participate in the annual Welsh International Super Cup that is played in the months of July to August.

According to the leader of delegation coach Peter Makanga said that prepartion are in high gear and sessions are being conduted to keep traveling players fit for the tournament, last year Edgars sent one team to Welsh and sent 2 teams U11 and U13 to Sweden and UK. coach Peter says this time we shall send 3 teams in both tournments and we expect to be victors.

Technical Director Peter Makanga say EYP needs to send more teams this time so that Edgars can increase on the chances of winning a trophy and all interested in this should confirm by 15th February, the trips are scheduled from17th-27th July 2010 and 24th July - 4th August 2010 respectively, registration is going for interested child players. during the Welsh trip in Wales UK, child players will tour Manchester United Stadium (Old Trafford), Manchester City Stadium (City of Manchester stadium) and Liverpool stadium (Anfield)

Preparations for Welsh and Gothia World Youth tournaments that starts in July are under way,  the Technical Director Peter Makanga  revealed this and stressed the need to have a sponsor for the two teams to Sweden as well as UK so that most skilled players can make the trip as well.

The trips are scheduled from17th-27th July 2010 and 24th July - 4th August 2010 respectively, registration is going for interested child players. during the Welsh trip in Wales UK, child players will tour Manchester United Stadium (Old Trafford), Manchester City Stadium (City of Manchester stadium) and Liverpool stadium (Anfield)

Edgars are back from Nairobi LIGI NDOGO tournament

Edgars Youth Programme are back in the country after a succesful trip to Nairobi. EYP is among the five Academies that represented Uganda in the LIGI NDOGO East Africa Annual tournament. EYP registered U9, U11 and U15 where U9 won the Bowl trophy (Bronze medalists), U11 won Plate cup(Silver medalists) and U15 came fourth position out of 60 teams that participated.

The two days tournament saw our gallant boys play against Kenyans who beat our U9 1-0 drew and qualified for semis where they went through without sweat after their opponents failed to show up. They again won the finals without sweat after Ligi Ndogo teens arrived late and the Referee awarded them the game. But the boys were not happy with the Referee for a walk over without sweat and requested for a friendly game with the late comers but lost 1-0. The U11 of Edgars drew 1all in their first game, goal scored by Arnold Kaserere and later lost out to Kibera United but went on to play in the runners up cup and EYP won  and qualified finals which they won and recieved a plate cup after beating a team from Uganda called Kisugu 2-1. Goals were scored by wonder boy Marvin Mulindwa who equalized and later Arnold Kaserere scored the winning goal. In the U15 the boys played and lost opening game but went on to win against Makindye SC from Uganda 5-0 with goals from Karl Martin, Ivan Otai Ivan, Ismail Magoola, Sam Kaddu and Albert Mugisha. They came out second and qualified for Plate semis where they lost out to Kibera Combined 4-0. The team returned on yesterday Tuesday 1st September 2009 at 10:30pm aboard Kampala coach.

Carl Kimera Edgars Top Scorer with 8 goals

Carl Kimera was Edgars top scorer in the just concluded Welsh Super cup played in Wales, United Kingdom. According to leader of delegation Dan Mubiru, the boys played several games in a few days and he was happy with their performance as they scored 23 goals in the tournament.

  The team played 9 games and Carl scored in each game plus a hatrick, Marvin Mulindwa scored 7 goals, Isaac Ntegeka 5 goals, other scorers included; Shaka Shakul and Florence Naiga who also scored a goal each. Marvin and Isaac played in all the age categories. Edgars team came out second and recieved silver medals.

Edgars Youth Programme returns with a silver trophy

Edgars Youth Programme returned on Tuesday with Silver medals from
UK in the Welsh international Super played in Wales. The team returned
 with their medals in a welcome ceremony held at Entebbe Airport. The
team after reaching the finals of Super cup played at Aberystwyth
where teams from Brazil, UK,Argentina,Malta,India,Kenya and Uganda
participated in the U9-U16 age category.The boys played real football and we reached the finals. We were divided into
two groups and U11 team reached the quarter finals and U9 reached the
finals but lost out to Wales team. Meanwhile EYP team has also landed
invitation to Kenya to play in LIGI NDOGO tournament to be held in
Nairobi capital. Edgars communications manager Richard Semanda said we
shall decide this week if we shall make it. Edgars last participated
in the annual event in 2006 and took five teams in the U8,9,10,11 and
12 where Edgars reached semis.

Edgars Youth Programme will be back from UK. Edgars who represented Uganda in the Wealsh Super cup held in Wales will be back in the country after they reached the finals and loosing to all the two teams of U9 who reached finals & U11.The team will return after a successfull trip on Tuesday at 10.30PM.Coach Dan Mubiru said we shall be back on Tuesday 4th Aug and am happy we lost but we have hard a nice trip. The team was divided into two groups U11 and U9 and all reached the the last four but the U9 played well and lost out to UK team.

Edgars U9 and U10 emerges finalist

Edgars team that travelled to Wales for the Welsh Super Cup lost to their European counter parts in the finals for both U9 and U10, returns tomorrow Tuesday 5th Aug at 9:40pm aboard SN 456 with their medals.

The head of delegation Dan Mubiru said on phone that the kids are happy for what they have achieved in their engagement in the Wales tournament and he is convinced the boys will emerge victors next year.

Edgars U9 wins 3 games qualifies for quarters

Edgars Youth Programme qualified for quarter finals after winning 3 games and one draw. The U9 teams played four games in a day to qualify for the quarter finals to be played today. According team leader Dan Mubiru the teams are improving and getting familiar to the weather, so far so good and these results are coming after the boys and a girl put up a spirited fight and won 3 games in a day.

The boys drew 2 all with South Ceredigion, won 4-1 against Celtiad(Malta), Bro Dysynni(Wales), Nicholas Wanderers B(UK) respectively. The teams are playing finals today in all age categories, U10 lost 3 games 6-1, 6-0 and 4-2 against Hereford Utd, Melita and South Ceredigian and won 2 against LIanilar 1-0 goal scored by Trevor Bwiiso and Barmouth A 10-1 Bwiiso Trevor scoring 5,Karl Kimera scoring 3 and Marvin Mulindwa scoring 2 but still have a chance to qualify if they win their last game with Wrexham Development(UK).

Coach Mubiru opportmistic winning one of the trophies and the boys have gained and are sure of lifting the trophy. The finals will be played at 8:00pm while quarter finals starts at 3:00(U)13:00(UK), semis starts at 17:00pm (15:00UK).

The U10 team has won its first game in the three games played so far and they play a serie of games today, meanwhile the U10 Edgars team in Welsh Cup lost to Malta by 4-2 goals, despite the losing the team displayed great football especially in the 4-2 loss and

According Coach Dan Mubiru the head of delegation said he his impressed by the attitude and courage showed by players like Naiga Florence and Mulindwa Marvin,he also sighted out poor goal keeping as the major cause of losses

Edgars Youth Programme started with a loss in the first game against home boys Hereford from UK in the Welsh International Super Cup. Hereford Utd whipped EYP 6-1 in the 50 minutes games played in Wales Aberstwyth grounds. Coach Dan Mubiru said the weather let us down and and the boys started feelling cold and lost the game. The boys put up a spirited fight to a home team, we tried to contain them and in the first half to 1 all. At interval of 25 minutes was good but second half coldness increased and we lost. We are playing again today with Melita in the morning and again play against South Ceredgion. Then wednesday we shall also play two games with LIanilar and Barmouth A. The boys are fine but cold is affecting us alot but hope to get used to it.

Edgars Youth Programme team will tussle it out with a UK team Hereford Utd. According to UK team Leader Dan Mubiru said on phone the team is playing today Monday at 11:00(1:00PM Uganda time) with UK team. The weather is favourable though rainny but not all that scaring but it is cold but we shall play and we are aiming at winning. The fixtures follows below where Edgars Youth Programme is grouped in 1 with other 6 teams.

Edgars Youth Programme kids returns

Edgars Youth Programme kids returned from Sweden where they had gone for the World Youth Gothia tournament,the team reached quarter finals and lost on sport kicks after a draw in the normal time with Swedish team which took the trophy.

The team led by coach George Lutalo who was so tired managed to bring back all the kids back home  were happy to be back to Uganda,Coach Lutalo said it was a very good tournament and believes the boys learnt alot especially competiting favourably on an artificial turf and believes this will help them play serious games ahead of us.

"We lost because the boys got tired and were not used to playing many games in a row, however the U11 put up a spirited fight won 6 games and lost 2 games.

The parents were happy as well to recieve back their children, Mr. Ham Father of Kakembo Semakula quoted saying am happy my boy and all are back home without any problem though we lost  and the kids gained experience given the exposure and publicity accorded to the tournament,the team also to create good relationships thru the contacts made

Father to Allan Mugumbya said am happy my boy is back and at leasty he will stay knowing that he has ever reached European countries.Mother of Samuel Kaddu part of travel team said am so happy that he has come back though we lost but he has seen what the World is all about.

Semi finalists Edgars back on Thursday

World Youth Gothia Semi finalsists will arrive in the country on Thursday this week.Edgars Youth Programme though lost but have gained alot will touch down the Airport at 9:40Pm abord SN Brussels after a sucessful tournament where our boys displayed great football skills,high degree of maturity and believes they are now familiar with the competitions said the Team leader Peter Makanga on phone

The U11 boys who whipped a German side PSV Friesen Hanigsen 11-0 to storm semis lost to Swedish team on sport kick after a 1-1 all in normal time. The boys will get a chance to tip their U10 before they jet out to UK. Coach Dan Mubiru will lead the group that leave for Welsh super to be staged in Aberystwyth Wales and it will be the first time Edgars will participate in this cup Prayers awaits

A team of 15 from Edgars Youth Programme is set to fly out this Thursday for Welsh Super Cup International.According to the information manager at EYP coach Richard Semanda said the team is set and Madam Margret Bell the CEO Aga Khan Education Service will preside over the send off at 4PM. Coach Semanda said the team expected to arrive at 3pm for inspection and verification

 The team sets off to Entebbe Air port 5:30pm and departs from Entebbe at 10.40PM The team includes 3 officials and 2 parents led by Dan Mubiru,Fiona Akampurira,Peruth Niwayesiga and Agnes Kabatereine,players include Jeremiah Kakete,Derrick Mbaguta,Solomon Bahinda,Mark Bataringaya,Marvin Mulindwa,Carl Kimera,Ronald Nyakahuma,Shakul Ssaka,Isaac Ntegeka,Albetr Bulega,Edgar Kasibe and Florence Nancy Naiga. The team will arrive in Brussels where they will have break fast at 5.45am on Friday and at 7:00AM board the bus to Penbryn at Aberystwyth University where they were booked and the games will start on 26th July-1st Aug. On 2nd Aug the team will socialize and do Netwrking and 3rd the team will visit amusement park and do shopping and team will depart from from London at 7:40am 4th Aug and arrive at Brussles Airport at 9:45am and arrive Entebbe at 9.40pm. The annual tournament has attracted over 1000 countries including Brazil, Argentina, Sweden, Germany,Italy, Kenya, S.Africa among others.This is the first time EYP is participating in the Welsh Super cup.Edgars Youth Sweden bound will be back on the same day Thursday.The team were eliminated in the semis after a draw in normal time.

The U11 team in Gothia Youth World Cup is still putting up splendid and impressive football as the goals they score sugguests,and last evening they triumphed PSV Freiesen Hanigsen of German by 11-0

Edgars U11 Qualifies for Quarter Finals

Edgars U11 team participating in the Gothia World Youth Cup tournament has advanced on to play the quarter finals tomorrow. The team has so far won three games against Swedish and Norwagian oppositions but lost its last preliminary game today 1-4 against AIK FF 2.

The U15 team though has been eliminted from the competition after again losing its last preliminary game 0-1 against Boras AIK.

Edgars U11 wins second match

The U11 boys are having their European counter parts for leisure as they cruise through the group stages win netball scores.The second game has just proved the wealth of youthful talent the Edgars team has displayed in the 4-1 win over Hogsby lk from Sweden with Rudi Gerharstreiter scoring a brace, Adrian Nyanzi and Lugalambi Calvin scoring one each.

Edgars wins its opener

Edgars U11 won its opening match against Ojersjo lF l of Sweden by 5-2 with Rudi scoring a brace,Lugalambi Calvin,and Lugalambi Conrad scoring one each and U15 lost to SK Vard Haugesund 1(Sweden) 9-0 against in the World Youth Gothia tournament in Sweden. The ceremony was held in the Gothernburg city where U11 won easily.Team leader Peter Makanga attributed to the loss because of the boys hard fatique because of the long journey and since it was the first game the boys feared the crowd but i hope the second game will be easy to win.Am happy with the Young ones who won easily their game was played after U15 hard lost and i thought they will losse but put up a spirited fight and won comfortably.The boys will playe again on 14th July both age groups says Makanga.

Edgars U12 and U15 set for their opening Matches in the Gothia Cup 2009

The Edgars team that travelled to Sweden for the Gothia Youth Cup on Saturday reached safely yesterday at 6pm and are set for their opening matches today, where the U12 will play Ojersjo lFl at 14:50 and the U15 will play SK Vard Haugesund 1 in the early kick off.

The head coach Lutalo George has assured us of victory in today's matches as he believes that his players are well prepared to face their European counter parts.
